J&J (Crucell) Modular Cell Culture Seed Laboratory in the Netherlands

When Johnson & Johnson’s (Crucell) decided to build a Bio Safety Level (BSL) 3 Modular Cell Culture Seed Laboratory for a novel vaccine, in Leiden, the Netherlands, it called on KeyPlants to provide a Conceptual & Basic Design. We won the contract in a competitive bidding process.

The Cell Banking Modular Laboratory covers 525 sqm, with a 360-sqm processing area. One of the unique features is that the three seed lab suites are all independent to allow for different strains to be handled in parallel in the three rooms.
